Welcome to the 2008 Workshop Presenter Webpage

Thank you for participating in the 2008 NOFA Summer Conference as a workshop presenter. With over 200 workshops offered throughout the weekend, the variety and scope of information shared each year is truly astounding. These workshops enable the organic farming community to grow and pass on vital knowledge and skills. In this process, we are building stronger relationships with the earth and with one another. Your dedication is greatly appreciated.

Conference Information
The 2008 NOFA Summer Conference will be held August 8-10 at the UMass campus in Amherst, MA. The conference is a three day event that brings together farmers, gardeners, educators, parents, students, health care professionals and many more to share ideas and resources regarding organic farming, food and living. The conference offers over 200 workshops in topics ranging from animal husbandry and soil fertility, to practical skills, herbs, and flowers. In addition, there is a Saturday farmer's market, a country fair, and a large tent for exhibitors and vendors.

Workshop Information
Each workshop is 90 minutes in length, and typically 15-20 workshops are offered at once during the 8 time slots throughout the weekend. In appreciation for your efforts, workshop presenters receive free conference registration and a $50 stipend ($25 for a second workshop). Co-presenters will each receive $25. We offer up to $35 reimbursement for copying costs and/or supplies for hands-on workshops. Presenters with animals will be reimbursed $.60/mile for hauling costs. Receipts must be submitted by August 31, 2008 to receive reimbursements.

Workshop Registration
In order to present a workshop at this year's summer conference, all presenters must complete the 2008 presenter and audio visual forms and return them by March 1, 2008. Please take the time to fill out both forms completely and accurately. Once the program is set, it will be very difficult to accommodate late requests and changes.

The downloaded forms can be completed in two ways:
1. The forms can be printed on a printer, completed with a pen, and sent by mail.
2. The forms can be filled out on the computer, saved as a .doc file, and sent as an email attachment.
