The NOFA/Mass Education Department leads nine programs, the backbone of the NOFA/Mass education experience. Education is at the core of what NOFA/Mass is and does, but it is the values and spirit behind the education that has created an amazing NOFA/Mass culture. As the Education Director I’ve been very fortunate to work with many inspired team members, who are not only great at what they do but also embody the NOFA/Mass spirit.

Recently several Education Department teammates have decided to leave NOFA/Mass to embark on new career paths. We will greatly miss Education Department team members Cathleen O’Keefe – Winter Conference Coordinator, Stacie Brimmage – Winter Conference Workshop Coordinator and Ben Grosscup – Summer Conference Workshop Coordinator. They all brought a great amount of skill, passion and dedication to their work and we wish them the best in their future endeavors.

In addition, I would like to take this opportunity to announce that I am also moving on from NOFA/Mass to pursue different career challenges. It has been an honor serving the NOFA/Mass membership and board. I will continue to be a supporter and member of NOFA/Mass, and you will be seeing me at events throughout the year.

These changes have opened up opportunities for others to join the NOFA/Mass team, lending their skills, passion and talents to the organization.. You will have the pleasure of getting to know these new team members over the coming months, but in my opinion the entire NOFA/Mass community is very fortunate to have them. I would like to introduce the new Education Department team members, all of whom have been involved in the organization in the past.

Jason Valcourt, who we hired as NOFA Summer Conference Coordinator in November, will also be taking on the role of NOFA/Mass Winter Conference Coordinator; Caro Roszell, former NOFA/Mass Board Member and current Bulk Order Coordinator, will be adding NOFA/Mass Winter Conference Workshop Coordinator to her duties; Hannah Blackmer, who has been assisting Cathleen O’Keefe with the NOFA/Mass Winter Conference and Bulk Order over the past few years, will be our new NOFA Summer Conference Workshop Coordinator; Dan Bensonoff, the current NOFA/Mass Policy Director who many of you heard from at the 2016 Winter Conference, will be taking over my duties as NOFA/Mass Education Events Organizer; and Allison Houghton, who recently joined the NOFA/Mass Board, will be taking over my duties as NOFA/Mass Education Director.

You will be hearing from our new team members soon. I wish all of them the best of luck serving NOFA/Mass. I would also like to thank the entire NOFA/Mass community for their support and passion during my tenure with the organization.
