Unloading the bulk order in 2016

NOFA’s Bulk Order opens again on January 1st for the 33rd year in a row! Now the Tri-State Bulk Order, this annual tradition brings together farmers, homesteaders and gardeners across MA, RI and CT to take advantage of bulk prices and shipping costs on cover crop seed, hand tools, livestock supplies, seed potatoes, mineral amendments, onion sets, inoculants, packing supplies and more!

We have been working hard for the last several years to cut costs and lower prices on items, while still being able to use a portion of the proceeds from the Bulk Order to fund critical activities like food access, soil carbon sequestration education, and policy work on behalf of small farmers, organic consumers, and other important constituents like our native bees! Thank you in advance for supporting the NOFA Bulk Order and helping to fund your local NOFA Chapter.

Although we’ve been running the bulk order since the 80s, we’ve moved into the Internet age. This year (for the second year) you will be able to shop via mail-in order form and PDF catalogue (available on the Bulk Order Page) or online at However – if you or someone you know needs a paper catalogue and order form mailed, feel free to call and request one at 978-544-9838 or email me at

What’s New

This year we have two new distribution sites! Noah Kellerman of Alprilla Farm in Essex, MA, has offered his farm for a distribution site. We will also have a new distribution site at Earth Care Farm in Charlestown, Rhode Island.

In addition to expanding our distribution network, we have expanded our cover crop inventory, added new inoculants, liquid amendments, dry amendments, and some new tools! We have added new potting soil options, including Earth Care Farm Compost and potting soil.

At the request of one bulk order participant, we have added some whole-grain animal feeds! Now you can buy bulk whole grains and mix your own feed rations. Some grains are raw and sproutable for increased animal nutrition.

Community Gardeners

Are you a community gardener? You can take advantage of bulk order savings by buying amendments and supplies in larger sizes and splitting them up with a simple scale. Contact me for help at! We can offer assistance and provide simple forms for figuring out order aggregating and dividing. Amend your garden plots for just a few dollars each!
