NOFA/Mass is seeking candidates to represent the healthy soils movement on the Mass. Food Policy Council. The person who fills this official role will have the opportunity to shape food policy through the lense of promoting healthy soils practices. The council, which includes legislators, administration officials and members of the public appointed by the Governor, works to increase farming and sales of Massachusetts grown foods and to support programs to bring healthy foods to everyone in the state. The Healthy Soils Bill passed in January 2021 created an 18th seat on the council, specifically for an expert in healthy soils. This person could be a practitioner and/or an academic expert.
