June 9, 2022 the Cambridge Public Library and Biodiversity for a Livable Climate will present author Hannah Lewis in a reading and discussion of her latest book, Mini-Forest Revolution: Using the Miyawaki Method to Rapidly Rewild the World. After the discussion, Hannah will sign copies of the newly released book for those who are interested.

The Miyawaki Method is a unique approach to reforestation devised by Japanese botanist Akira Miyawaki. It can be used in dense urban areas to create pockets of biodiversity and green space, building out community stewardship of local ecosystems and climate resilience against increasing temperatures and extreme weather events.

As many of you know, Danehy Park in North Cambridge is home to the first Miyawaki Forest in the Northeast US, and I will join Hannah in conversation to offer perspective from that project and envision the possibilities for rewilding the Greater Boston area together.

The discussion will take place at the main branch of the Cambridge Public Library at 6:30 pm Thursday, June 9.
