NOFA/Mass’s Farm Share program, going into its fourth week, is reaching families across the state.  From the Berkshires (Finca Luna Buho) to Boston (The Dorchester Coop, the Farm Share program is providing families and farmers with a vital connection that builds community, helps small local BIPOC farmers grow their business and creates greater access to healthier eating.

Some Comments from Farm Share families:

Gisselle (from the Dorchester Food Coop), a gardener and participant in the Farm Share program stated, “Really enjoy the vegetables straight from the farm. And I look forward to each week.”

Maria (Indian Orchard Citizen’s Council -Springfield), a volunteer with the bagging team at the Indian Orchard Citizens Council, and a Farm Share member mentioned that “Everything looks wonderful and we enjoy talking to Jen when she brings in the vegetables!”

NOFA/Mass’s Farm Share program is sponsored by a grant from the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources (MDAR).  The grant allowed BIPOC farmers from across the state to be matched with organizations in BIPOC communities.  One of the goals of the program will provide greater access to healthier foods in communities that may not have that access.  The other goal is to provide BIPOC farmers the opportunity to grow their customer base.
