NOFA/Mass Climate Action Challenge

Take the challenge and be part of the solution.

As a community of gardeners, farmers, and people close to the soil and natural cycles, we are keenly aware of the reality of climate change. Together, we’re keeping each other inspired to support climate solutions which will bring about a future that works for everyone, including the ecosystems of which we are a part.

NOFA/Mass has exciting projects in the works that focus on better climate choices for growers. What we need is unrestricted funding for everyday expenses so that our big projects run smoothly. Over the next three weeks we are excited to share plans, programs, and stories with you about our work towards a better future.

This year’s Climate Action Challenge is an invitation to join with our members, staff, and board in a multi-week journey of collective action and self-education about the work NOFA/Mass and partners are doing through these projects, and the impacts they will have on farmers, communities, and consumers.

As a grassroots movement centered around healthy soils and nutrient security, nearly everything we do at NOFA/Mass is through a lens of climate action. Through our Climate Action Challenge, we invite you to explore these intersections and to deepen our collective relationship with the broader climate movements while thinking critically about your role in this movement.

YOU are invited to participate in the Climate Action Challenge this November by:

  • Reading and reflecting inward to identify ways in which you, as an individual, can support those around you who are working to resist and counteract climate change
  • Identifying areas in your life where you can challenge yourself to be a better environmental steward
  • Taking action throughout the month to join a group of individuals uniting as an empowered, collective group to improve upon our current climate situation
  • Donating toward the goal of $20,000 to support the work that NOFA/Mass does to empower farmers and communities to improve the climate through their work and practices

NOFA/Mass has been organizing for over 40 years to educate and advocate for the regenerative agricultural and land management practices which increase the health of individuals, communities, and the planet. This era of climate action is an opportunity for our community to shine a light upon solutions of which we are already a part. Please join us for this Climate Action Challenge and be a part of this collective effort for a brighter future!
