Presenter from the 2016 NOFA Summer Conference

By Jason Valcourt, NOFA Summer Conference Coordinator

With such uncertainty of what the world will look like in summer 2021, we have begun tentatively planning a hybrid NOFA Summer Conference for August 6-8, 2021. We are optimistic that our 47th annual conference will happen partially in person and we are looking forward to celebrating NOFA’s 50th Anniversary with you! Yes, NOFA’s 50th Anniversary.

We are watching closely as the COVID situation continues to unfold, minding state guidelines and monitoring the recommended protocols. If all goes smoothly, we will be celebrating in person together once again in August at Hampshire College in Amherst, MA.

We are also planning to accommodate those who may not feel comfortable gathering in August by preparing a virtual conference option to happen shortly after the in-person event.

Please Help UPlan!

We are seeking your feedback to assist in our conference planning process to gain as much clarity on what type of event is most viable. Please take 3-5 minutes to fill out this survey and help us gauge interest and comfort level regarding the in-person Summer Conference this year. We appreciate your input!

Workshop Proposals Now Being Accepted

We are now seeking workshop proposals for both virtual and in-person programming. As always, proposals for all manner of topics relating to food systems, food preparation and storage, all levels of gardening and all things farming are welcome. Our workshops are peer to peer learning opportunities and all levels are welcome. Whether you’ve presented with us before, or if this is your first time submitting a workshop idea, we welcome your proposal. Our attendees range from beginners to tenured practitioners and we always love your submissions.

Please fill out the proposal form here.

Look for more information soon as we firm up our conference plans.  Either way, registration for the 2021 NOFA Summer Conference opens May 1st!
