Event Series Event Series: NOFA NH Organic Gardening Series

Are you tending a garden for the first time, or have you been growing food for many years? The Northeast Organic Farming Association of New Hampshire Organic Gardening Workshop Series offers instruction for new and experienced home growers seeking to build skills to feed themselves, their families and develop self-sufficiency. Knowledgeable speakers from across the Northeast share their expertise with informative workshops throughout the spring. Learn about how to improve a home growing system or start something new.

The 2024 gardening series is a mix of four online workshops on Tuesday evenings from 4/16-5/7 and one in person workshop on Saturday, 5/11. Register for the full online series or individual workshops. The in-person workshop (in NH) must be registered for separately and has a capacity of 20 people. Rubén Parrilla is the Soil Technical Coordinator for NOFA/Mass and trained in microscopic soil microbial identification through the Soil Food Web School. He is a Certified Lab Tech and studied Environmental Design at the University of Puerto Rico. In addition he recently completed a Natural Farming intensive taught by Chris Trump with over 50 hours of theory and practice. Rubén has 15 years’ experience working at different capacities in the environmental laboratory industry. He has been performing soil carbon proxy testing, soil health assessments, soil chemical analysis, and soil microbiological evaluations for NOFA/Mass for over the past year and has extensive experience farming and working with farmers, including beginning and socially disadvantaged farmers.
